Dentist Barbie ©1997

This set come in many variations. Barbie is Caucasian, Hispanic or AA, and her li'l patient is Caucasian, Asian, Hispanic or AA. 12 different sets in all, if all Barbie comes with each of the kids.
The set I have is a European (French) all Caucasian set and it has another item number than the American issue and my guess to that, is that the toothpaste is different. The US sets have a sponsored tube of Crest (with a cuopon on the back), while the European sets have a tube with Barbie's own brand printed on them.

Barbie comes in a white doctor's coat with a blue fabric/scarf draped inside her collar, paired with blue shoes. The kid, who doesn't have a name, but is an unidentified li'l patient, wears a pink, no-sleeve/lace edged overalls with flower print in pastels and a pair of white sandals. The girls all have two pigtails. The kids could be ordered from Mattel's replacement service, so US friends bought the full set of all four kids for me, and two of the AA doll as she had different length of hair.
Barbie has a talking mechanism and says a few phrases you may hear while doing your tooth checkup at a dentist's.
